- Chris leapt onto comp.sys.amiga.hardware and mumbled something about Re: Viper

-
- I'd say go for the 030. You might not get an mmu, my freinds did not, but my
- mkI viper did. t does pay off, and it's well worth the extra money.
-
- It does disable your PCMCIA slot with 4mb+ in it though, my mate had to get
- his overdrive put inside the machine.
-
- It is very reliable - I have had my mk-I for 6 months, and my mate has had his
- mk-II for more, nearly a year I think, and they haven't broken down.
-
- Some tech specs: (Used sysinfo 3.01)
-
- 5379 dhrystones per second
- 5.61 MIPS
-
- Speed Comparisons: A500/A600, no fast 9.16
- B/A2/1000/A500 with fast 7.69
- A3000/25 1.16
-
- AIBB Reckons that my machine (A1200/ViperI/28mhz/030/4mb) is anything between
- 2.4 and 5 times faster than a standard a1200. Not bad.....:)
-
- Hope this helps on the Viper side
